About
Welcome to the science department at Seward High School.
Currently, the science department is taught by four teachers. The
teachers are Pat Piskorski, Steve Pinkall, Steve Wignall and Andy
Christensen. You can find the classes they teach and e-mails on
the front page.
Between the four teachers, there are several classes that can be taken for
preparing students for post-secondary science careers. As Ninth
Graders, all freshman are required to take Biology. Since we are
on a block system, Biology can be taken in the first Term (August to
December) or second Term (December to May). Then as Sophomore's,
students will take Physical Science either first or second Term.
As student's become Juniors and Seniors, they may take additional science
courses. Some science courses have requirements which can be found
in the student enrollement book.. Those additional classes may be Anatomy,
Physiology, Chemistry, Organinc Chemistry and Physics. Each of
the additional science class will be first or second Term or in some
cases both Terms.
Each of the classes are linked to Powerschool in which student's and
parent's can monitor grades, assignemnts and for some, missing
assignments. If you have any questions, please feel free to
e-mail any of the teachers listed on the front page.
