Scholarships/Financial Aid

Scholarships currently available to Malcolm High School students are listed in the current month's newsletter which is distributed to all juniors and seniors and found at this site on the Counselor Junior-Senior Newsletter page. Students should come to the MHS Counseling Center for more information and applications. Please note all deadlines. Students should also be conducting thier own search of national scholarships as we receive only a limited number in the school counseling office; there are many more avaiblable if students are willing to put in the time to search for them.

The following links provide a number of scholarship and financial aid resources for students, parents and counselors. The Internet is a great tool, but a few words of caution:

I have researched the links provided here for you, but cannot guarantee that all the links are accessible and are totally reliable and reputable. This is particularly true the farther you search outside our pages. Please use common sense.

The Internet cannot replace talking to a counselor. Counselors can provide services and information which can be personalized to meet your needs. Most times, seeing a counselor will get your questions answered quickly.

FASTWEB--Free scholarship search of hundreds of thousands of scholarships.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute--A youth website for Hispanic students looking to go to college, land an internship, or prepare for the workforce. Students and parents looking for financial assistance for higher education can perform their own personalized scholarship search to explore CHCI's bank of scholarships especially earmarked for Latino students.

EducationQuest--A helpful Nebraska site with financial aid information and an online College Funding Estimator.

The Student Guide--The Student Guide is a comprehensive resource on student financial aid from the U.S. Department of Education. Updated each year, The Student Guide tells you about grants, loans, and work-study programs and how to apply for them. It is a great place for students and parents to start their search for financial aid.
