Discover Nebraska Quilt Project
The Lincoln Quilters Guild visited the Eagle Elementary School and worked with fourth graders on the Discover Nebraska Project. The leader of the project was Sheila Green. She and two other volunteers, Mrs. Carlson and Mrs. Gowin, came to Eagle to do quilt project that ties Nebraska history to quilting. They discussed the importance of quilt making to pioneers. They also tied a classroom project to Nebraska state symbols and to other important aspects of life in Nebraska during pioneer times. The students had a great time.
