May Newsletter
This is the last newsletter for the 07-08 school year. The journey ends on May 21. The students will be dismissed at 12:30. The last day of school is always a very exciting one. We encourage parents to visit with their child regarding safety on the bus and walking home. Safety is just as important the last day of school as it is the first day. It would be tragic if a student was seriously hurt the last day of school.
It is important that parents take care of any lunch charges and return all library books. There are 15 student days in May. If your child is eating hot lunch, please make sure there is money in their account. Report Cards are held if there is a negative balance in their account. We would like to remind parents that any funds remaining in their account is carried over to the next school year.
There are many activities scheduled during the month of May. The Kindergarten Students will be performing. Mrs. Hatfield’s Class will perform on May 2nd, at 1:15. The program will be held in the Learning Center. Mrs. Jones’ Class will be performing on May 9th, at 1:45. The performance will take place in the classroom.
The next P.T.E. Meeting is scheduled for May 8. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in the library. We hope you will attend.
Mrs. Lehr’s first grade class will be performing a puppet play on May 8th and May 9th. They will be performing the old classic, The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
The fifth grade students will be attending a Bowling Party on Thursday, May 15. This party is sponsored by the P.T.E. and will be held at Hollywood Bowl.
The fifth grade chorus will be performing in Lincoln on May 16th. Following the performance, they will have a picnic at Holmes Park.
There are a number of picnics scheduled. We have listed the dates below.
• May 13 Kindergarten Platte River State Park
• May 16 Grades 3 & 4 Eagle Park
• May 19 Grades 1 & 2 Mahoney Park
• May 19 Grade 5 Eagle Park
We would like to thank all of the P.T.E. and all of the parents who volunteered hundreds of hours this year. Events such as Fun Night, Grandparent’s Day, and the Soup Supper require many volunteers. The outstanding parent support is what makes Eagle such a special place for teachers and students.
We hope you have a great summer! The journey will begin once again on August 15.
