Meeting the Needs of All Students

Eagle Elementary is able to offer a wide variety of programs. These programs help to meet the needs of all students. There is a full range of special education programs. A full time speech pathologist is available to meet the needs of those students who have speech/language needs. The resource program at Eagle meets the needs of students who have difficulty learning. These services may be provided directly in the classroom, (inclusion) or the services may be offered as a pull out program. For those students who have special behavioral needs, a structured resource program is provided. This program utilizes the Boys Town Social Skill Program. Eagle has access to an occupational therapist and a physical therapist for those students who have these types of needs. Eagle also has access to a teacher for the hearing impaired.

Title I Services are also offered in the areas of reading and math. Additional support is provided in the areas of reading and math. This additional support may take place in the regular classroom or in some cases students are pulled out of the classroom into small groups. These pull out sessions are approximately 20 minutes in duration.

An enrichment program is also offered at Eagle Elementary. The Renzulli Model is used. For more information regarding the program, you may contact the principal‘s office.

Physical Education, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, and Library Skills are all part of the regular curriculum. Students have physical education classes and vocal music classes on alternating days. Instrumental music begins at fifth grade. Students are scheduled to visit the library on a weekly basis to learn library skills. Students may also visit the library at other times.

The use of technology is also encouraged and taught at Eagle Elementary. There are two computers labs. Twenty-five are located in each lab. All classrooms have 2 or some cases 3 computers. Keyboarding instruction begins at 5th grade. Students are also receiving instruction and learn how to create multimedia projects.
