U.S. History Expectations
Mr. Nunnally
Freshman Core U.S. History
Expectations: Students in Freshman Core U.S. History are expected to make good choices in three specific areas:
1) Attitude
2) Respect
3) Work
Students who are having difficulty in one or more of these areas will
receive some individual attention in order to help them improve their
choices. This may include, but is not limited to, time after
school and parents contacted. In addition students are expected
to follow the guidelines established in the Waverly High School Student
Handbook.
Grading: Students’ grades will be based on their understanding of
U.S. History as demonstrated through a variety of exams. For
those students who struggle with a particular unit, I do provide an
additional opportunity for re-teaching and re-testing…it is my hope
that ALL STUDENTS will be successful in their study of U.S. History.
In addition, students are expected to complete their daily assignments
in their individual, student notebooks. These notebooks are
considered a “work in progress” and students are encouraged to
regularly make additions and corrections to them. While the
primary purpose of the notebooks is to help the students process the
information, they can earn up to 4% additional credit counted toward
each final semester grade.
Furthermore, quizzes will be given throughout the semester in order to
assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents as
well as myself.
