1. Save this page to refer to and open a new window to go to puzzlemaker.com
2. Scroll down and under “Create puzzles online” is a box that says “try other puzzles”—go there and choose “criss-cross puzzle”
3. In the “Step 1” box, type your first name and last name
4. Skip “Step 2” and “Step 3”
5. In “Step 4,” type in your first word. For example, type
in “abbey.” Leave a space then type in the definition. See
example below. DO NOT put hyphens.
6. Hit the return key. You need to have a separate line for each
term. Make sure you spell the vocabulary word correctly! If
your definition goes onto the next line, that’s okay. Just hit
“return” when you’re done to go to the next line.
7. Go to the “File” menu and “print
preview.” Make sure it says “1 of 1” at the bottom. If it
doesn’t, go to “page setup” and shrink it by changing the 100% to 80%
or 70%. Print once it’s on one page. If this still doesn’t
work, raise your hand and I will help you.
Example: Using the words “abbey” and “abdicate.”
