Song Lyrics Imagery Project

Today you’re going to spend a little time on the Internet looking for song lyrics that you enjoy.  (School appropriate, please!)  Look for GOOD lyrics; lyrics that have MEANING for you and are full of IMAGERY (sensory detail).

IMAGERY requirements:  At least 3 vivid sights, at least 2 vivid sounds, and at least one vivid example from either smell, taste, or feeling/touch.

Here are a few sites to get you started (I'd suggest opening a new window to search the sites so that you can still see these directions while searching):

Metrolyrics.com
Song lyrics
Sing 365
Lyrics.com
Songtext.com

Once you have found some lyrics (one song):

1.  Copy and paste them into a Word document, reduce the font size to 10, and print them out.  If you do not find lyrics in class, you need to do this for homework and bring them to class tomorrow.

Put the name of the artist on your lyrics!!!

2.  Underline or highlight the phrases on your actual lyrics.  Then next to the phrase, identify the sense (or make a color key if highlighting).  Again, you should have at least 3 vivid sights, at least 2 vivid sounds, and at least one vivid example from either smell, taste, or feeling/touch.  If there are more, in any of the five senses categories, great!
