My Sophomore Year Project
1. Create a booklet that includes your pieces of writing from the entire year. You must include at least five pieces. Print off new copies—fix errors and polish them up! Single space, take off the headings except for the date, and use any font.
2. Make an illustration for each of your writing pieces (at least three need to be hand drawn, the other two may be computer generated). If you have more than five pieces, it is your choice whether you illustrate them or not. The illustrations should have something to do with each writing piece.
3. Include the following in your booklet:
a. A cover with a title, your name, the date/year, and some illustration
b. Page numbers on individual pages and a table of contents (piece title, genre, page numbers) The cover and Table of Contents should NOT be numbered.
c. An author’s note (three sentences minimum) explaining your process for each piece: what it means to you, where you got the idea, what it’s about, and the like (don’t ask any questions for the reader). The author’s note should also explain your picture—what it is and what it has to do with your piece of writing. Your author’s note, picture, and piece of writing should all be in the same vicinity.
