WAVERLY 9TH GRADE BAND REHEARSAL GUIDELINES

1. It is important that band members be in their seats with instruments and music
immediately following the tardy bell.  You will be marked tardy if you are not ready to play two minutes after the tardy bell rings.

2. Gum Chewing is not permitted.

3. Students are expected to have a pencil in their folder at all times.

4. Each student is responsible for taking proper care of the music in his or her folder.  Failure to do so will result in the student paying a replacement cost.  (The average cost for a piece of band music is $60.00.)  Music must be stored in folders.

5. Students are encouraged to take instruments home on weekends and holiday periods for individual practice.  Students are encouraged to play as much as possible outside of class and may take their instruments home on a daily basis if they choose to do so.

6. Maintain good posture and instrument position at all times.

7. Instruments and equipment are to be stored only in designated areas.

8. Please do not hesitate to ask for help.

9. Students will be dismissed by the teacher rather than the bell at the end of the period.

10. Strives to improve individual playing abilities.
