Computer Applications

Course Description
This course improves the touch method of entering information on a computer. Composing and formatting skills are developed and refined. Word processing, database, and spreadsheet concepts are presented untilizing a software program called Microsoft Works. Multimedia presentations are created using a software program called Microsoft PowerPoint. Other technologies used in creating the presentations are color scanner, digital camera, color laser printer, video/audio capture, and a drawing or paint program. Job simulations will be used to improve production speed and accuracy.
Grading
First Semester 50% Tests 30% Daily Assignments 20% Timed Writings
Second Semester 65% Tests 35% Daily Assignments
Students are given an updated quarter grade every two weeks.
