Personal Finance is a course that is of value for all high school students regardless of their ultimate career choice.

3. Determine one’s net pay based on hours worked, hourly rate, and deductions withheld.

4. Analyze and apply personal tax laws (e.g. 3 taxes everyone must pay, complete tax returns).

SUPPLIES:

The textbook we will be using is Decisions--Making Personal Economic Choices. Each student will have a workbook. Always bring both to class. It would be best to have a notebook for taking notes. You must a have a book cover for your test.

CLASSROOM CONDUCT:

Assignments must be turned in when due. If they are not turned in when due,10 points for every day the assignment is late will be deducted from your grade. Considerations will be given for excused absences and school activities.

Use your class time to work on assignments wisely and to your benefit.

Only EMERGENCY passes will be given. Come to class prepared.

Gum chewing is allowed as long as you chew it properly and dispose of it properly.

I will assign seats at the beginning of the year and you are to stay there unless I reassign you at a later date.

If you miss a day of school, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed. You must make up what you miss even if it is not graded.

You must stay in your seats until you are dismissed.

MAKE UP:

If you are absent because of illness or an emergency at home, you will be given three days for every day missed to complete your work or tests.

If you know you are going to be absent (e.i. school activity or doctor's appt.), you must make up your work in advance.

TARDIES:

You have two options to select when you are tardy. You may come in before or after school and stay with me for fifteen minutes, or you can elect to have one percentage point deducted from your final grade at the end of the quarter for every tardy you receive.
