8:00 p.m. in Distance Learning Room
The Shickley Board of Education met on November 14, 2005, at 8:00 p.m. Present were Alfs, Thomas, Brinkman, Kassik, and Straight. Also present was Mr. Sheffield.
Brinkman moved and Straight seconded to approve the minutes of the October board meeting. Vote 5-0.
Straight moved and Thomas seconded to accept the October treasurer’s report. Vote 5-0. Thomas moved and Kassik seconded to accept the November treasurer’s report. Vote 5-0. Brinkman moved and Kassik seconded to pay the presented claims totaling $155,166.46. Vote 5-0.
The audit was completed for 2004-05. The report was distributed to board members and will be discussed at the December meeting.
Board members completed the Superintendent/Principal evaluation.
At this time the board is not interested in co-oping Jr. High activities.
Discussion was held on the Wellness Policy.
The board has agreed to contract mowing for next season.
Brinkman moved and Kassik seconded to lease a dishwasher/sanitizer for the kitchen. Vote 5-0.
Mr. Sheffield reported on the School Improvement Process and late starts will be held throughout the school year to work on the process.
An After School Academic Support Program will be implemented using flex-funding.
Cracks in the playground were filled with tar.
Shickley Public School is participating in the Foster Grandparent program through Blue Valley Community Action.
This week is American Education Week and the teachers are hosting an open house Thursday, November 17, 2005.
A special meeting will be held November 28, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss administrative contract.
Next regular meeting will be December 12, 2005 at 7:30 p.m.
