Monday, February 13th, 2006
7:30 p.m. in Distance Learning Room
The Shickley Board of Education met on February 13, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. Present were Alfs, Brinkman, Lichti, Thomas, Kassik, and Straight. Also present was Mr. Sheffield.
Communication was shared from the Shickley Education Association.
Thomas moved and Kassik seconded to approve the minutes of the January board meeting. Vote 6-0.
Straight moved and Brinkman seconded to approve the treasurer’s report. Vote 6-0. Kassik moved and Brinkman seconded to pay the presented claims totaling $150,578.47. Vote 6-0.
Lichti moved and Kassik seconded to go into executive session to discuss personnel at 7:56 p.m. Vote 6-0. Executive session adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
Brinkman moved and Thomas seconded to offer the principal position with a salary of $47,500 plus activities director at 10% of the teacher base salary and no health insurance coverage to Randall Kort. Vote 6-0.
Kassik moved and Brinkman seconded to recognize the Shickley Education Association as the local bargaining unit. Vote 6-0.
The board was provided with a proposed school calendar for 2006-2007. Thomas moved and Brinkman seconded to repair, sand and refinish the south gym floor. Vote 6-0. Lichti moved and Kassik seconded to accept a contract with Don Belau for psychological testing. Vote 6-0.
Information was shared concerning the cost of PowerSchool for 2006-2007. Lichti moved and Straight seconded to go into executive session at 9:35 p.m. to discuss personally identifiable information. Vote 6-0. Executive session adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
Information was shared on the cost of insurance for liability and property owned by the school. Mr. Sheffield shared information on current legislative issues.
Next meeting will be Monday, March 13, 2006, at 4:00 p.m.
