May 06 Minutes
The Shickley Board of Education met on May 8, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. Present were Alfs, Brinkman, Lichti, Thomas, Kassik, and Straight. Also present was Mr. Sheffield.
Thomas moved and Straight seconded to approve the minutes of the April regular board meeting. Vote 6-0.
Brinkman moved and Alfs seconded to approve the treasurer’s report. Vote 6-0. Kassik moved and Lichti seconded to pay the presented claims totaling $151,852.50. Vote 6-0.
Mr. Sheffield reported that there has been no progress on negotiations and the budget. Mr. Sheffield will ask a facilities study representative to share information at the June board meeting.
Straight moved and Thomas seconded to go into executive session at 8:05 p.m. to discuss personnel. Vote 6-0. The board went into executive session without administration at 8:30 p.m. Administration joined executive session at 9:05 p.m. Executive session adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
Discussion was held on LB 126, option enrollment and future board policies required by recent legislation.
School dress code will be discussed at the June meeting.
Superintendent/Principal report included upcoming activity dates. Mr. Sheffield will send out a survey to the parents of junior high students concerning junior high activities.
Next meeting will be Monday, June 12, 2006, at 7:30 p.m.
