March 06 Minutes
The Shickley Board of Education met on March 13, 2006, at 4:00 p.m. Present were Alfs, Lichti, Thomas, and Straight. Also present was Mr. Sheffield and Mr. Floth.
Mr. Floth shared information about the possibility of having a third football coach.
Communication was shared from the Paul Sheffield family.
Lichti moved and Thomas seconded to approve the minutes of the February board meeting. Vote 4-0.
Straight moved and Lichti seconded to approve the treasurer’s report. Vote 4-0. Thomas moved and Lichti seconded to pay the presented claims totaling $146,902.31. Vote 4-0.
The board accepted administrative contracts for Mr. Paul Sheffield as Superintendent and Mr. Randall Kort as Principal.
Thomas moved and Straight seconded to approve the 2006-07 school calendar.
Mr. Sheffield shared that Shickley School will receive $38,552.23 in state aid for 2006-07. Preliminary budget information and negotiations was shared.
Lichti moved and Straight seconded to adjourn to executive session at 5:16 p.m. to discuss personnel. Vote 4-0. Executive session adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
Pool salaries and admission prices will remain the same as last year. Discussion on the possibility of having a third football coach will be held at the April meeting.
School Wellness Policy will be reviewed by the committee and then brought to the board for approval. The first reading of the Special Education policies was held. The second reading will be held at the April board meeting.
Mr. Sheffield shared information on current legislative issues.
