7:30 p.m. in Distance Learning Room
The Shickley Board of Education met on June 12, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. Present were Alfs, Brinkman, Lichti, Thomas, Kassik, and Straight. Also present were Jamie Spurling and Mr. Sheffield.
Jim Berg, representing Bahr Vermeer Haecker Architects, shared information regarding a facility study.
Thomas moved and Brinkman seconded to approve the minutes of the May regular board meeting. Vote 6-0.
Straight moved and Kassik seconded to approve the treasurer’s report. Vote 6-0. Alfs moved and Kassik seconded to pay the presented claims totaling $156,106.60. Vote 6-0.
Thomas moved and Brinkman seconded to approve Jamie Spurling as head boys basketball coach for 2006-07. Vote 6-0.
Thomas moved and Straight seconded to approve the proposal from BVH for a facility audit to be conducted in the fall of 2006 for $4000. Vote 6-0.
Lichti moved and Brinkman seconded to adjourn to executive session at 9:20 p.m. to discuss negotiations. Vote 6-0. Executive session adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
Information was shared regarding the results of the Junior High activities survey.
Possible dress code changes will be discussed at the July meeting.
Straight moved and Brinkman seconded to approve Karen Lauenstein as a local substitute. Vote 6-0.
The levy exclusion/growth hearing will be held at the July meeting.
Mr. Sheffield shared board policies that will have first reading at the July meeting.
Mr. Sheffield shared information concerning the sewer repair, math and language arts assessments and swimming pool repairs.
Next meeting will be Monday, July 10, 2006, at 7:30 p.m.
