Homeroom
OUR 2007-2008 HOMEROOM!

The goals of homeroom at Waverly Middle School are to:
- provide a safe and supportive environment for all students.
- foster a sense of belonging for students and staff.
- continue the development of social and interpersonal skills through decision-making and communication activities.
Our weekly homeroom outline:
Mondays - "flex" day. Could be working on left-over projects, activites,
games, or a free day.
Tuesdays - "topic" day. We discuss or work on topics relevant to middle
school students.
Wednesdays - "read" day or study hall. We will read or work on assignments.
Thursdays - "trivia" day. We compete against other home rooms in answering
trivia questions.
Fridays - "activity" day. Students rotate homerooms to one activity of their
choosing.
We also participate in the collection of box tops and soup labels,
representing our homeroom in competitions such as posters and gym days,
organizational day, community service, the talent show, and in
collecting a time capsule for each homeroom student to be presented at
the end of their 8th grade year.
