Southeast Regional ASD Team
What
is the Southeast Regional Autism Spectrum Disorders Team?
Regional teams were developed across the state of Nebraska to represent
the strategic geographic areas. School districts and Educational Services Units entering into
state approved regional ASD service agreements can request support from the Southeast Regional ASD team. The Southeast ASD Team represents
the areas of ESU's 4, 5, 6, and Lincoln Public Schools. Who is on the Southeast
Regional ASD Team?
The
Southeast Regional ASD Team is composed of school psychologists, occupational
therapists, physical therapists, speech/language pathologists, ECSE teachers,
special educators, parents, representatives from community human services
agencies. All team members have a special interest, experience, and training it
the identification of children with ASD.
What kind of support can my
school district receive from the Southeast ASD Team? The Southeast ASD Team can provide a variety of assistance to local school
districts who are serving children with ASD.
The team can provide the following: *Assistance
with initial and on-going assessments of children with characteristics of ASD. *Consultative
assistance in designing and implementing programs for students with ASD.
*A
comprehensive resource library for parents and educators.
*Training
opportunities for parents, educators and paraprofessionals.
*Technical Support *Information on latest research and
practice in the field.
