About the Coordinator

A little bit about the coordinator:

    

Melissa Trautman began her position with Nebraska's ASD Network as the Regional Coordinator of the Southeast Region in June, 2009. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Nebraska Wesleyan University. She received her Masters' Degree in Special Education: Autism/Asperger Syndrome from the University of Kansas. Melissa has been teaching in special education for 11 years. She previously taught in Lincoln Public Schools, and finished up her teaching assignment in the Blue Valley School District in Overland Park, KS., where she ran a program form middle school students with Aspergers Syndrome, at the end of the 2008-2009 school year.

Melissa has worked with Brenda Smith Myles and co-authored "The Hidden Curriculum."
